'We're damned after all' by GasolineDiamond 'We're damned after all' by GasolineDiamond
So yeah the original working title was "Starved to death in a land of plenty" but that would be too long for a title...nevermind.

This painting was made for a school project some months ago. We should paint a conceptual painting based on a painting by Caspar David Friedrich. I chose his work "Frau vor untergehender Sonne" as a base vor my art.
The topic was "Nature and human" and we were supposed to show a connection between the nature as it is today and the people who live on this earth. The fuck knows why Mother War out of nowhere popped into my mind but I came up with this picture and you seriously can interpretate the hell out of it.
I worked with a bunch of symbols (like the cherry blossom tree which stands for the life itself) and I think most of these are pretty self-explanatory.
You can interpretate it the way you want just keep an eye on the details ;D
I'd be happy to hear what you think about it and in which way you would interpretate it.

Also I hate that we had to paint it with watercolor...acrylic paint is so much better to work with!

Just out of curiousity, did you intentionally put Mother War closer to the 'human' side? Because to me, it looks like your trying to show that no matter how hard we latch onto nature, the 'human' side will always be closer to us, if you get what I mean. (Im bad at explaining, sorry :P)
